The Social Media Coordinator oversees and creates Dance Ed Tips’ content across multiple platforms and supports the organization’s overall marketing goals. The successful candidate will be a hands-on and participative leader in our educational tech startup environment and will report to the CEO.

Social Media Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute a results-driven social media strategy.
  • Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms.
  • Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content.
  • Attend virtual events and produce live social media content.
  • Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to create a social media calendar.
  • Monitor social media channels for industry trends.
  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
  • Review analytics and create reports on key metrics.
  • Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy.

This is a remote part-time position with a monthly stipend. Candidate must be available for 2 weekly meetings but otherwise can work on their own schedule and have flexible hours. As a member of the DETeam, you will be able to access all events, resources, and materials free of charge and be part of a tight-knit community where helping dance teachers and students is our passion. 

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools
  • Performance quality and not afraid to be on camera
  • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, and digital media formats
  • Excellent social listening skills
  • Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space
  • Strong copywriting and copy editing skills
  • Top-notch oral and verbal communication skills
  • Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Experience Requirements:

  • A passion for dance education and supporting dance teachers
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Instagram , Pinterest, TikTok and other social media best practices
  • Bachelor’s Degree in dance, dance education, or marketing preferred but not required 
  • 1-3 years experience with social media marketing or content development for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Experience using tech tools like Canva, Slack, Trello, etc. a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools a plus
