Had students research one sport that was familiar and one that was unfamiliar to compare the move...

I just wanted to write you to let you know that the Dance in Sports unit I purchased from you turned out to be one of the best units I've done with my students. Everyone was so engaged throughout the study of movement and devising their dances based on what they found. I did add a few things, like having students bring images of sports they were researching to use as inspiration for a movement study. I also had them research a sport that was familiar and also one that was unfamiliar so that they could see similarities and learn about a new sports. I used the Olympic games official website to help give them ideas for sports they may not have heard of or seen before. My students were so inspired by this unit that they ended up devising some of the most creative dances I've seen. One group actually performed theirs in the pool! Another group had me order 4m long ribbons to use in their dance because they were inspired by gymnastics. It was great to see their creativity develop and I was really inspired by the success I had with this unit.
